2nd December, 2016
Around 3,000 people gathered at the Bendigo Stadium on Thursday 1st December, at the Girton Grammar School annual Speech Night event.
The spectacular annual event requires a two day set up with around 25 technicians controlling 100 lights that have roughly 24,000 watts on 1,500 metres of cable, as well as 6,000 watts of sound all on 90 metres of overhead truss.
The evening featured a range of music and entertainment. From the Girton Big Band and wind symphony to a full symphony orchestra.
Vocal music pieces will be performed by the Junior School Choir, Girton Concert Choir and specialist choir, The Girton Singers.
As has become customary, the much anticipated “School Spectacular”, involving every student in the school from Grade 3 to 12, stole the show with an all singing, all dancing rendition of the classic rock musical “We Will Rock You”. Around 900 children were part of the performance.
