What I Love about Teaching
I have wanted to teach since I was in Grade 3 and that is what I continue to do 50 years on. My enjoyment remains ever so much as I witness the development of the many students at school. I love learning.  I also love being able to work with people and trying to create an environment where students are motivated and challenged.

What do you like best about the subject/s you teach?
Health and Human Development is a relevant, dynamic and practical subject. It provides students with skills and knowledge to allow them to make informed decisions about their own health as well as recognising the importance of health in society. Students are able to consider what determines their health and come to recognise it is not as simple as making behaviour changes. Health and Human Development also gives students the opportunity to analyse current health issues.

My favourite classroom activity
Any activity that allows the students to relate what is happening in their classroom to the outside world. This challenges the students’ thinking and encourages them to think beyond their own circumstances.

What difference can good teaching make?
Good teaching can inspire, encourage, motivate, encourage collaboration, build optimism, a sense of well being and a productive and embracing community. As I role model I aim to provide guidance, consistency, a positive outlook, a caring and sincere attitude and a ‘give it a go’ attitude.

Other Hats
Volleyball – I am passionate about volleyball.

I enjoy growing herbs and vegetables, cycling, shopping at Op shops, reading, camping, watching ABC on a Monday night, cooking all weekend and spending time with family including Fish and Chips on a Friday night at Pa’s.
