Junior School Roooooooars!

27th October 2017

Over three magical nights and for one matinee performance, the Girton Grammar Junior School students beguiled audiences with a spectacular performance of the Broadway classic, The Lion King.

More than 180 students from Grades 2, 4 and 6 took to the stage to roar, stomp, prowl, sing and dance their way through the African Savannah.

From lions and wildebeests to hyenas and savannah birds, the students transformed themselves to tell a tale of the betrayal and destiny that has captured hearts and minds in film and on stage for over 30 years.

Director of the show and Junior School drama teacher, Mrs Mandy Ellison, said that although not everyone wants to be an actor, theatre performance develops lifelong skills, including teamwork, perseverance and confidence.
