Girton Grammar School is devastated by the tragic passing of Year 9 student Thom Hosking on Friday 10 October.
We share our deepest condolences with Thom’s family, friends, fellow students, and the entire Girton community.
Thom was an important part of the fabric of our school. A guitarist, an athlete, a conscientious student and a friend, he was admired by peers and staff alike. We will miss his smile and his kindness.
We remain focused on supporting our students, staff and community. The school continues to provide counselling and support services to staff and students.
A funeral service for Thom will be held at Ulumbarra Theatre at 10am on Friday 24 October. Out of respect for Thom and his family, and to allow funeral attendance for the large number of staff and students who wish to attend, Girton Grammar School will be closed on Friday 24 October.
We thank the Girton and Bendigo communities for their condolences and messages of support. We are grateful to be part of such a tightknit and caring community.
