Several Girton debating teams have had success of late in the Debating Association of Victoria’s (DAV) school’s debating competition.
The Year 12 team consisting of Alexander O’Shea (12 Aherne), Kavindu Hathurusinghe (12 Jenkin), Milos Babovic (12 Jenkin) and Alexander Nielsen (12 Millward), remains undefeated in this year’s DAV season of debating.
In the last round of debating, Girton had seven teams competing, ranging in age from Year 8 to Year 12.
Each team competed in two debates, with Girton clocking up 8 wins and 8 ‘best speaker’ awards.
