Best Ever Results at Science Olympiad Exams

The Australian Science Olympiad Competition encourages students to consider Science as a career and this year, 10 Girton students from years 10 and 11 have been awarded medals and certificates based on performance in the 2016 Australian Science Olympiad examinations, designed to challenge top performers in Science.

The 10 students participated in the Biology, Physics, Chemistry and the Earth and Environmental Science exams.

A High Distinction Certificate and medal is awarded to students who achieve a score in the top 10% of all participants in Australia. Girton had two students who won Bronze medals and two who won Silver medals, plus 3 Gold medal winners, which places them in the top 3% in Australia. Gold medal winners were: Jake Fletcher, Maya Mann and Alexander O’Shea.
